Did you know that your home environment plays an important role in how you navigate your relationships, career and even your perception of yourself? Keep reading for a checklist to refresh your home and improve your quality of life.
Declutter, dust and get rid of anything that no longer serves you
Please stop holding on to old things that are doing nothing but collecting dust. It’s time to let it go, and deep clean while you’re at it. Dust holds negative energy, and so can hand-me-down furniture that has bad memories attached to it. Take an assessment of what you want to carry with you on this next part of your journey and say goodbye to the rest. Along with that, give yourself grace and seek support if you need it to release any negativity so you can move forward.
Upgrade your bedding
Adequate sleep is essential to your health. Having a good set of eco-friendly sheets and bedding can improve your sleep quality, ease anxiety, and be healing to you and the earth. Invest in quality bedding and watch your whole life change.
Just add plants, then add some more
Adding live plants is a great way to bring the outside in. Plants add life, some cleanse the air, they can help boost your mood, reduce stress and feelings of anxiety, plus visually plants make spaces feel good and peaceful. Buy a new plant (or three!) to spruce up your space and improve your overall well-being.
Use nontoxic and cruelty free products
Everything you put in and on your body impacts the way it functions, so it’s important to understand the ingredients in your products and avoid toxins. Just because a product is on the shelf to buy doesn’t mean it’s safe! Areas to start looking for toxins in your home are cleaning products, laundry products, bath, and personal care products, bedding, and textiles such as curtains, pillows, and rugs. Take time to research ingredients and understand their effect on you and the environment. It isn’t always easy to find nontoxic options and converting all your products at home to nontoxic ones is a process, but your health is worth it!
